Born on January 21, 1969, in the Mirzapur District of Uttar Pradesh. Completed his undergraduate studies in Science at Ewing Christian College, Allahabad (affiliated with the University of Allahabad) in 1988, and subsequently obtained his Law degree from Dayanand College of Law, Kanpur, in 1992.
Enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh on May 9, 1993, and established his practice at the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad. Commenced his distinguished legal career under the mentorship of his father, the Late Shitala Prasad Singh, a pre-eminent criminal lawyer who also served as a Government Advocate in the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad for the State of Uttar Pradesh.
During years at the Bar, handled a diverse range of matters encompassing Criminal, Civil, Service, Education, and Miscellaneous Writ jurisdictions. Developed a distinct specialisation in criminal cases, particularly those involving Economic Offences and matters relating to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). Also served as an “Additional Central Government Standing Counsel” at the Allahabad High Court.
Throughout career, held several significant positions, representing various Government Organisations and Departments. Discharged his professional duty as a counsel for:
• Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSTC), • Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), • Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra, • Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
Was also engaged as Counsel to conduct the FERA cases and matters related to money laundering under The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on behalf of the “Directorate of Enforcement(ED)” at the Allahabad High Court.
His expertise was further recognised through his appointments as “Special Public Prosecutor” for:
• Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), • Customs and Central Excise, • Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), • Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN).
Elevated to the Bench as an Additional Judge of the Allahabad High Court on November 22, 2018. Subsequently, on November 20, 2020, took the oath of office as a Permanent Judge. His Lordship took oath as a Judge of the Patna High Court on October 30, 2025, and has since been serving at the High Court of Judicature at Patna.
