Juvenile Justice Monitoring Committee
In view of the Chief Justices
Conference-2006, held from March 9 to March 10, 2006 and by order dated
27.02.2008 of Hon'ble the Chief Justice, Patna High Court, a Juvenile Justice
Monitoring Committee was constituted to monitor the implementation of the
provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act,2000 (erstwhile and the new law of 2015)
in their true spirit and to act as a supervisory Committee over all the
stakeholders to facilitate the effective implementation of Juvenile Justice
(Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and the Protection of Children
from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.
Juvenile Justice Secretariat
In light of the judgment of Hon’ble
Supreme Court in the case of Re: Exploitation of Children in Orphanages
in the State of Tamil Nadu vs. Union of India and Ors. dated 05.05.2017
and with the co-operation of Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of Bihar, a
Secretariat to assist the Juvenile Justice Monitoring Committee, was
established on 31.01.2017. The secretariat assist the Monitoring Committee in
its supervision over the statutory bodies established under the J.J.Act,2015
like - Juvenile Justice Boards, Child Welfare Committees, Special Juvenile
Police Units etc. It assists the Monitoring Committee by updating the data
regarding the J.J.Boards, POCSO Courts and other statutory bodies under the
Act. It further acts as a key linkage between the functionaries under the Act
and the Monitoring Committee. Further, the
Secretariat
co-ordinates with the State Government in order to ensure the prompt and
effective implementation of the J.J.Act, 2015.
The Secretariat comprises of the following: -

(v) Steno-cum-Typist (Computer literate) - 01

The office of the Juvenile Justice Secretariat was formally inaugurated by Hon'ble the Chief Justice on 10th December, 2018.
